HARRIS, Virginia "Gin" Johnson, of Kinsale, Va., died Sunday, September 4, 2016. She was born in 1938 in Weldon, N.C., to the late James W. Johnson and Lucile Allen Johnson, and graduated from Weldon High School and the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNC Greensboro). She was a longtime member of Cople Episcopal Parish, The Garden Club of the Northern Neck, the Rappahannock Committee of the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, and the Northern Neck Historical Society. She was preceded in death by a brother, James W. Johnson Jr. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Harris III; daughter, Virginia Harris Peale (Charles) of Charlottesville, Va.; son, Robert IV (Scott Sabiston) of Washington, D.C.; and brother, Henry A. Johnson of Elon College, N.C. A funeral service will be held at Yeocomico Church, Tucker Hill, Va., on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cople District Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 51, Kinsale, Va. 22488.
