Cooke, David Yarbro of Montross, Va, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the age of 76. He was born in 1940 in Virginia to the late Joseph Arthur and Juanita Yarbro Cooke. He graduated from Washington & Lee High School, and attended The College of William and Mary. After a tour in the Navy, he settled in Montross, Va. For thirty years, he was the Business Manager for Chandler Chevrolet, later to become Northern Neck Chevrolet. He was a lifelong member of St. James Episcopal Church, where he served in many capacities. He was a member of The Virginia Society of the Sons of the Revolution and The Virginians Barbershop Chorus. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Bobbitt Cooke, and his daughter, Sarah Caperton Cooke Nevin (Rob) and two grandchildren, Molly Juanita and Augustus David. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and walking in the woods with his devoted cat, Missy. His passion was singing with the church choir and the Virginians Chorus. The family will receive friends Friday, October 20, 2017 at Welch Funeral Home in Montross from 6 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Montross, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, P.O.
