Shirley Sanders Rouse, 76, of Newland, widow of Chastine R. Rouse, Sr., passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016. She was a member of Rappahannock Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer and had worked as a secretary at John C. Hutt, Jr. law firm.
She is survived by sons, Chastine “Bobby” Rouse, Jr. (Adriane), Richard “Ricky” Rouse, Stephen Rouse and David Wayne Rouse (Debbie) and daughter, Sally Pitts (David Lee) all of Warsaw. She is also survived by grandchildren, Allen Rouse (Erin), Ashlee Lee (Michael), Nicholas Rouse, Justin Rouse, Emma Rouse, Tommy Crowder, Tracy Courtney and Chris Courtney; great grandchildren, Blakey Lee, Landon Lee, Zoey Courtney , Eli Courtney , Malachi Courtney and a sister, Louse Hayes of Warsaw. She also leaves behind her dog, TarMan and cat, Willie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Daisy Sanders, a granddaughter, Laci Renee Pitts; brothers, Malcolm “Mac” Sanders and Roy Hampton Sanders; and sisters, Geraldine S. Wilkins and Shirley Page Sanders.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Rappahannock Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel.
