Obituary for Robert William "Bobby" Schools Jr.

Robert William Schools Jr., 86 years old, of Warsaw Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on September 4, 1937, in Richmond, VA in what is currently known as St. Mary’s Hospital. Robert, known to most as Bobby, graduated Warsaw High School in 1956 where he played baseball and basketball. Bobby joined the Army Reserves in 1956 and served for 6 years. Bobby started work at Tidewater Telephone Company towards the end of 1958. He was later educated at several Technical Schools through Contel and retired in 1991. Bobby faithfully attended Welcome Grove Baptist Church and served as a deacon in the church. He loved to fish and enjoyed working in his garden filled with vegetables that were always shared with family and friends.

Bobby was a beloved husband to his faithful wife, Margaret Wade Brann for 56 years. They vowed to love one another “for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness or health, to love and cherish until death do us part”. They have two beautiful children and five grandchildren, and a great grandchild coming later this year.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. Schools Sr. and Evelyn Virginia Hall Schools, and his brother, Cecil Larry Schools (Marcia).

Bobby is survived by his wife, Margie Schools; his brother, George Norman (Faye) Schools; his son Jamie (Brittany) Schools; and his daughter, Paula Wonderling; his grandchildren: Josiah (Hope) Schools, Micah Schools, Caleb Schools, Benton Wonderling and Maggie Wonderling.

Services will be held at Welcome Grove Baptist Church in Newland on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for a visitation at 1:00 p.m.
