Obituary for William Joseph "Bill" Marker Jr.

William J. Marker, Jr., 86, of Montross, Virginia passed away suddenly on April 2, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucille (nee Elwell) Marker; sons, William J., III (Cindy) Marker, Timothy R. (Karyn dec'd) Marker, and John T. (Susan) Marker; grandchildren, Tim Jr., Lexi, Katie, and Jessie. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J.Sr. and Kathryn Mary Marker (nee Hee); and brother Robert Marker.

"Bill" was born in Camden, NJ, raised in Audubon, NJ, and was a 1954 graduate of Camden Catholic High School. He then spent 3 years in the US Army, serving in France and other areas in Europe. After completing his service, he worked over 39 years as a Lineman for PSE&G, retiring in 1995 as an Overhead Line Supervisor. Bill was a Coach for Audubon Little League, and later served as President of Nomini Bay Homeowners Association.

Bill enjoyed a long and active retirement which included vacations at the Jersey Shore, taking many family road trips, boating, motorcycling, fishing with his sons, watching grandkids' sporting events, and working in the yard. Bill was known as a caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was always ready to help out with anything. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
