Obituary for Sandra Ellen Keyser (Jones)

Sandra Ellen Jones Keyser, 62, of Warsaw, Virginia passed away at home on March 1, 2023 with her husband by her side. Sandy was born in Salem, Virginia to the late Gordon Augustus Jones and the late former Margaret Alma Loving. She was the loving wife and partner for forty years of William Donald Keyser, Jr. Sandy was a member of Nomini Baptist Church and a retired CNA.

Sandy and Billy also ran an oyster/scallop boat for many years, and they also teamed up to run an antique store. They taught Sunday School (men’s class) together at Nomini Baptist Church and where you saw one you saw the other. In fact, “Sandy and Billy” were usually mentioned in the same way one mentions “peanut butter and jelly” or “salt and pepper”. Their successful marriage was one of Sandy’s proudest achievements and served as the cornerstone for both of their lives. They managed to work together for decades and as many may imagine, that is no small feat! Sandy loved football and rooted hard for the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved animals, especially dogs and horses; and as a young girl she spent some time working with horses.

Deeply saddened by her loss are her husband and best friend Billy; her sons Bo Allmon and his wife Amanda, and Joey Keyser; her daughter Krystee Allmon; her grandchildren: Aiden, Summer, Lyric, D.J. and Tristan; a bunch of darling great-grandchildren; her brother Gordon Lee Jones; her sister Dee Jones; several nieces and nephews; her lifelong friends (and cousins) George W. and Kathy Keyser and her beloved dog Peanut. Sandra was predeceased by her parents and her sister Vickie Jones.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date and time that will be announced as soon as the family and church have made those plans. Please check back here on the Welch Funeral Home website for updated information.
