Olive Jeane Lewis Thrift ( also known as “Poodle”) went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 18, 2023. She was a devout Christian lady and lived her life for the Lord.

She was born on May 2, 1943, in Owltown Virginia to Hilda and Grayson Lewis. She was the youngest of five children. Her father died when she was 2 years old. Her mother married Dan Davis when she was 12. He was the only father she ever knew.

Olive Jeane helped her parents run their country store in Haynesville for 25 years. Later she worked at Centerview Self Service in Warsaw, Dodson’s Auto Sales selling many cars through the years, and enjoyed substituting at Richmond County Schools. She was also known as “Poodle the clown”, and did many children’s birthday parties.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Callao, teaching Sunday school for over 50 years, leading missions and GA’s, and singing in the choir. She had a profound impact on many children’s lives and loved her church family dearly.

She was famous for her lemon meringue pie and card ministry, and delivered many pies to her friends, family, and community. She loved writing poetry, westerns, and Elvis. Olive Jeane loved people and never met a stranger. She was loved by everyone she knew. She was happy, kind, loving, and a true lady until the end. She was a blessing to her family.
