Obituary for Kathryn Louise Davis

Kathryn Louise Davis, 96, passed away November 27, 2022, at a senior care living facility. Born October 31, 1926, she was preceded in death by her father William Sebra; her mother Mary Hall Sebra; and her husband Vunard Lloyd Davis.

She is survived by a loving daughter, Nancy Chatham and caring son-in-law William Chatham, Jr.; granddaughter Jamie Lynn Hart and grandson-in-law Justin Hart; great-grandchildren Kaitlynn Hart, Caleb Hart, Savannah Hart, Alana Hart, and Ava Hart; and many friends.

Kathryn "Louise" was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and attended Tappahannock's Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses until she could no longer make it in person. She remained devoted, however, and listened to meetings over the telephone every chance that she could. She always kept her “eyes on the prize” of being resurrected after death, which was also the title of her favorite Kingdom melody. She loved birds, putting puzzles together, listening to country music, watching television, and her family immensely. She was a special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held for Louise at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Tappahannock, Virginia.

“When the eyes of blind ones see again
and the ears of deaf ones hear again,
when the songs of children fill the air
and joy and peace are ev’rywhere,
when our loved ones will return to life,
to an earth that’s free from sin and strife,
you will see how God these things supplies,
if you keep your eyes on the prize.”

-Keep Your Eyes on the Prize, Song 144
