Obituary for Cathy Gallagher
Catherine Coates Gallagher, age 66, of Warsaw, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022. She was born on January 21, 1956, in Robley, Virginia to Harrison Herbert Coates and the late Garnet Olive Lyell Coates.
She was an Office Manager for Al Pugh Distributing and enjoyed her job for 47 years.
Cathy was an extremely loving person and enjoyed being around others. She did not know a stranger and counted everyone she met as a friend. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed reading cookbooks, the older the better. Most of all, Cathy loved her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she will be dearly missed by them.
Along with her father, Cathy is survived by a son, Robert Christopher Gallagher; a daughter, Catherine Gallagher; grandchildren, Ava and Marlee; brothers, Charles, Jimmy, and Bobby; and sisters, Norma Jean, Shannon, Shayne, and Terri.
Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bobby” Gallagher.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel, with Pastor Randy Furrow officiating. Interment will follow in the Warsaw Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in loving memory of Cathy, to Warsaw Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 576, Warsaw, VA 22572.
