Obituary for Joan Miller Kitch

Joan Elaine Miller Kitch, age 82, of Warsaw, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born on January 31, 1940, in Simonson, Virginia, to the late Thomas Fielding Miller and Pearl Margaret Clark Miller. She was a member of Farnham Baptist Church and was a retired Purchasing Agent for EDS.

Joan was an extremely loving person and loved caring for others. As a young mom, she was very involved in the Girl Scouts and enjoying times of learning and adventures with her daughter. In her spare time, Joan loved hiking and going on vacations, especially to the Smokey Mountains. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooting for her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. Joan loved county music, old and new, but Elvis Presley held a special place in her heart. Most of all Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren. She couldn’t get enough of them.

Joan is survived by a son, Richard B. Kitch, III; a daughter, Tammy Galloway; her grandchildren, Justin Kitch (Amanda), Ryan Kitch, Nicole Kitch, Lisa Boley, Gregory Higgins, Kristina Stockton (Matthew), and Sabrina Haden (Brady); her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Patrick, Brandon, Gabriel, Noah, Angel, Damien, Aiden, Isabella, and Ariana; a dear sister-in-law, Mary Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Joan is preceded in death by partner, Richard Loomis; her sons, Brad Schneider, and Christopher Thomas Kitch; and her brother, Gene Miller.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel. Interment will follow at Farnham Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel.
