Obituary for Linda Ann Schlossnagle (Iserman)

Linda Ann Iserman Schlossnagle, 79, beloved wife of Ellis Schlossnagle, passed away peacefully on Friday,
September 16, 2022, in Farnham, VA, after a courageous struggle with Parkinson’s disease. A fighter
until the end, Linda leaves a large family and friends who deeply mourn her loss.

Linda was born on February 14, 1943 in St. Paul, MN to William and Dorothy Iserman and is survived
by her brother, Steve Iserman, his wife Nancy, and their family. She leaves a loving husband, Ellis
Schlossnagle, and children: Stephen (Caroline); Katherine (Jeff); Phil (Cashawna); Erin (Chris); and Beth
(Colin); as well as eight grandchildren who will miss her terribly: Jadon, Garrett, Grant, Landon, Anna,
Stella, William, and Talia.

Linda was a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, where she obtained degrees in biology and
English. Linda was a devout Christian and volunteered for many church activities. She was most
recently a member of Carmel United Methodist Church in Hague, VA. Her intelligence and generous
spirit captivated family and friends alike. As a high school anatomy teacher, she exemplified brilliance
in every capacity. Linda brought a calm and friendly manner to the classroom, challenging and
encouraging students in science, so much so that her former students sent letters of appreciation
upon graduation from high school. As part of everyday living, science and the environment were
always important to her as well as sharing her knowledge with others. Linda taught middle and high
school in Montgomery County, MD for 25 years and retired from teaching in 2005. Linda and Ellis
enjoyed their homes in Ft. Myers, FL, and Montross, VA.

Linda was sociable, funny, naturally inquisitive, and always an educator, finding teaching moments in
everyday activities with her family and friends.

Over their 37 years of marriage, Linda and Ellis raised a happy blended family, built several homes
together, and enjoyed travel to many parts of the globe, including Africa, Southeast Asia, and South
America. They also traveled the United States extensively, enjoying the national parks, and
occasionally hiking and touring with friends.

Linda was passionate about health and was a runner for over 30 years, participating in many 10k races
and half-marathons with her children and friends, winning numerous races in her age group.
Additionally, Linda loved golf, aerobics, spin classes, and hiking.

Linda was a sensitive and compassionate listener, which was one of the reasons she had an
abundance of good friends, some of whom dated to early childhood. She spent time with her friends
from high school, college, and the neighborhoods where she lived. She made annual trips to
Minnesota, where she maintained childhood friendships.

Linda lived a full and warm life, filled with joy and love. She is finally at rest. She will be forever missed
and forever remembered.
