William Richard Schultz, age 79, of North Topsail Beach, North Carolina, formerly of Heathsville, Virginia, passed away on September 8, 2022. He was born on June 1, 1943, to Louis and Violet Schultz. William served 20 years in the military and was the first Board Certified Urology Technician in the United States Army. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Combat Medic. William was a Deacon at Smithland Baptist Church and a member of the Heathsville Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and golf.
William is survived by his wife, Mildred “Millie” Moore Schultz; sons, Keith Wilson, William Richard, Schultz, Jr. (Dana) and Robert Thomas Schultz (Angila); seven grandchildren, Jamie, Jacob, Robert, Kaitlyn, Christian, Tristan, and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Preston and Cooper; a brother, James Schultz; and sisters, Jaqueline Federici and Martha Monday.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Smithland Baptist Church with Reverend Ian McManamey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
