William Sheldon Bell, 53, of Montross, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022. He enjoyed relic hunting, especially for arrowheads and sharks’ teeth. In his free time, Sheldon would work on genealogy, research history and Civil War reenactment. More than anything, he loved his wife and his family.

Sheldon is survived by his wife, Deanna Massey; mother, Barbara Rose Bell; sisters, Patricia Bell Sanford and Sandra Bell Hall (Jim); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl Edwin and Anna Lee Jewell Massey; sister-in-law, Pam Meador (Mike) and Sheila Barnett (Donald); nieces and nephews, Christopher Sanford (Katie), Benjamin Hall, Zachary Meador, Olivia Barnett and Sam Barnett; and great-niece, Vivian Sanford.

Sheldon is preceded in death by his father, William Russell “Sonny” Bell.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Welch Funeral Home-Montross Chapel with interment following at Rappahannock Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
