William Keith Hundley, 69, of Fredericksburg, VA, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Affectionately known as Billy, he was a retired waterman and bus driver for over 20 years with the Greater Lynchburg Transit Company. He was a faithful member of Thomas Road Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.
Left to cherish his memory is his lifelong love and wife of 48 years, Janet Pritchard Hundley. He is also survived by son, William Keith Hundley (Mellissa) of Madison Heights; and daughters Rebecca Hundley Britt (Aaron) of Lennep, Montana and Kristin Hundley North (Ira) of Spotsylvania; grandchildren: Tyler Britt, Katelyn B. Cook, Abigail Britt, Baker Britt, James Britt, Lyda Britt, Layne North, Grace North, Michael Simpson, Allie Simpson, Casey Simpson and Will Hundley; great-grandson Caleb Cook; sister Brenda Squires; and special uncle George Carroll Hundley.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lee Hundley, mother Elois Hundley, and father Albert Hundley.
Billy was a Christ follower and had a heart of gold, always making friends easily. He loved his native Northern Neck and especially Chatham Village. Sitting at a table full of hard crabs with his family was his idea of a great time! He also loved his furry companion, Betty. Billy will leave a big void, but we will see him again in Heaven.
His home-going service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Welch Funeral Home Montross Chapel with interment following in the Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Alex Mason, nephew of Billy, will officiate the service. Pallbearers are: Tyler Britt, Layne North, Michael Hundley, Zach Cook, Joe Fallin, Scott Squires, Jeff Sayler, and Dennis Johnson.
