Obituary for Freddy Dean Fife

Freddy Dean Fife, 64, of Heathsville, Virginia passed away peacefully on May 12, 2022 surrounded by family. Born on July 15, 1957, Freddy was the son of the late Leonard Preston Fife and the late Geneva Stewart Fife Grubbs. Freddy was born in Richmond, Virginia; grew up in his mother’s native Harlan, Kentucky and then made his way back to Virginia, where he lived for the past 55 years.

Freddy loved to joke with people. He got along with everyone; he had a great sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Cynthia Fife; his sons Freddy H.D. Fife, Jr. and Henry Ray Fife (Faith); his stepdaughters: Adelina Ramirez, Juana Beth Ramirez, and Rosa Cynthia Ramirez Haden (Charles). He is also survived by his stepfather Carl Grubbs; his brothers Raymond Lee Fife (Dinah) and Jerry Lee Fife; his sister Carolyn Grubbs; many grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and very many friends. He is also survived by his three beloved dogs: Doc Doolittle, Precious and Snuggles. We are all mourning his passing.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Wade Skidmore and Frank Finley Fife; and his sister-in-law Virginia Fife.

A memorial service to celebrate Freddy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Light of Christ Anglican Church in Heathsville. The Reverend Michael Moffitt will officiate. A reception will follow in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help assist with funeral expenses. These may be made directly to the Welch Funeral Home, 10300 Richmond Road, Warsaw, VA 22572. The family would be deeply grateful.
