Obituary for George William Moon Jr.
George William Moon, Jr. age 85, of Lottsburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He was born on July 16, 1936 to the late George William Moon, Sr. and Cora Anthony Moon. George was a retired Manager for the National Security Agency and a member of Melrose United Methodist Church. He loved family, dancing to country music, traveling in the camper, and enjoying his time on the river. His favorite pastime was drag racing in his yellow GTX, which became a family event. After retirement, George also rekindled his love of farming and crabbing.
George is survived by a son, Greg Moon (Lisa); daughters, Lyndra Watson and Laura Rose (Walter); ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Catherine Brizendine (Franklin) and Eva Bryant (Wilmont).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Jean Moon; a son-in-law, John Watson; and a grandson, Christopher Watson.
A walk through visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel in Warsaw followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
