Obituary for Charlotte Gertrude Eller (Bandy)
Charlotte Gertrude Bandy Eller, 96, of King George, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Charlotte was born in Hawkins, Tennessee and moved to Virginia as a small child with her family. She was the daughter of William McKinley Bandy and Gertrude Ann Nave Bandy and the widow of Floyd McKinley Eller. Charlotte was a childcare provider in her home. She was also a devoted member of Hanover Baptist Church and her beloved Bible was never far from her reach.
Charlotte loved gardening, reading, and cooking. She grew both flowers and vegetables and worked in her garden until recently. Not even the use of crutches stopped Charlotte from growing things in her beloved garden. She provided loving care to generations of children in her home. Charlotte had an incredible faith and Hanover Baptist was a big part of her life. Above all, however, Charlotte adored her family. The love she gave endures. She will be deeply missed.
Left behind to cherish Charlotte’s memory are her great-grandchildren: Travis Wesley Seager and Savannah Seager Shropshire (Weston); her brother Lynn Bandy; her granddaughter-in-law Renee Seager; her nephew and friend Rondell Eller; her friend Bonnie Thompson and many other dear friends and relatives. Charlotte was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 46 years; her beloved daughter Frances “Rettie” M. Seager; her beloved grandson Kenneth Wesley Seager; and her brothers William Samuel Bandy and Alvin York Bandy.
A graveside service for Charlotte will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Historyland Memorial Park, 11227 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485. The service will be officiated by Reverend Rick Crookshank of Hanover Baptist Church.
