Leslie Wayne Hapeman, 76, of Montross, passed away at home on Monday, January 11, 2021. Born in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York to Bud Hapeman and Patricia Arbour Wade. Leslie moved to the Northern Neck from his home in Centerport, New York about ten years ago. He was most recently a Project Manager at Carry-On Trailer in Montross, after having worked as a Project Manager for various other companies in his earlier professional life. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.

An avid boater, Leslie loved the water and between living on Long Island and the Northern Neck, he was never far from it. He had a tremendous work ethic and everyone who knew him was keenly aware of this. He held his family very dear and his three children were his pride and joy. Leslie was also a lifelong member of Old First Presbyterian Church in Huntington.

Leslie is survived by his three children: Christopher Hapeman (Amy) of Elkridge, MD; Kimberly Hamilton of Montross, VA; and Heather Taylor (Nathan) of Chantilly, VA. He is also survived by his lifelong dear friends, Gail and Paul Derkasch and their daughter Emily (Aaron).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in Leslie’s memory to the Westmoreland County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1000, Montross, VA 22520.
