Betty Lois Whittaker (Childs)

Hi,
My Name is James Larry Mahan. My Mother is Hilda Louis Childs (Mahan) Self. Betty is my aunt, my mom’s sister. I regret that I did not have the opportunity to get to know my aunt Betty. My mom and dad (William Melvin Mahan) separated when my brother Billy, sister Joyce and I/ we were very young (perhaps 3 or perhaps younger). My brother, sister and I became orphans of who ever whole take us in, so I lost touch with the Childs family. I ended up with my Uncle Sam Mahan/ aunt Evelyn Mahan. I do remember my aunts and uncle Child’s from when I was very young. I use to love visiting them. I’m sure I met Betty and the other siblings back then. I do know I loved them and felt loved by them. Then there was a break in the relationship between the Mahan and the Childs family. So sad. I missed out on so much not having relations with my mom’s side of the family. I suppose they did not know where I was and the bond was broken, never to be re-mended.
Betty, I Love You. I have warm feelings and memories from my early childhood. I have been told only the most wonderful things about you. Please Rest In Peace. Please Give my Mom (your sister Hilda) a hug for me (tell her I Love her), also my Grand dad and Grand mother Childs. I look forward to the greatest of Family Re-unions when we can all be together again.
