Obituary for Constance Pemberton Gallagher

Constance Pemberton Gallagher, age 93, of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. She was born on May 8, 1927 to Alfred and Annie Sanders Pemberton. She is the widow of the late Edward Stanley Bowis and Andrew Willis Gallagher.

Constance graduated from Warsaw High School and attended Longwood University. In her career she was Secretary to the President of Tidewater Telephone. Constance was an active member of Warsaw United Methodist Church where she served as Chairman of the Church Council, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, and President of the United Methodist Women. She also volunteered for the church’s mission projects and thrift shop for over 25 years. She and her husband, Stanley started Tangier and Chesapeake Cruises and Buzzard’s Point Marina. Constance was extremely active in her community and was named Business Person of the Year in 1985 by the Chamber of Commerce.

Constance is survived by her son, Lawson Thomas Pearson, III; her step-sons, Linwood Bowis (Dorolena) and Andrew Willis Gallagher, Jr. (Pam); her step-daughters, Bonnie Lowery (Brad), Betsy Terhune (Stan), and Mandy Hudson (Keith); her grandsons, Thomas and Christopher; her step-grandchildren, Carol Mead, Jamie, Bizzie, KG, Ellen, Kathleen, Justin, Edward, Rudy, Brad, Lynne, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Ryland, Taliaferro, Gracelyn, Grant, Marshall, Caroline, Henry, Seth, Caleb, Grace, Enrique, Emilio, Isabel, Edward, James, Will, Olivia, Wynne, Mead, Tawny, Talen, Headley, Courtlyn, Payton and Henley; sister-in-law, Joyce Pemberton; special friends, Jane Sanders and Elsie Brown.

A graveside service will be held at Warsaw United Methodist Church Cemetery on Constance's 94th birthday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 am.
