Obituary for Barbara Howell Conner
Barbara Elizabeth Howell Conner, age 90, of Warsaw departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was the daughter of Carroll and Barbara Catherine Howell, and the widow of Lewis Conner.
Barbara was born on January 22, 1930 on the farm she loved so much. After living out of state for many years, she and her family returned to reside in the Northern Neck in 1973. For more than 40 years she operated her own tax preparation business and delighted in her relationships with her many clients.
She enjoyed reading and history. She loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures. Her travels took her to all 50 states. She enjoyed many road trips with her husband, which included driving across the county twice and driving to Alaska. She loved cruises including a cruise through the Panama Canal, and enjoyed a trip to Hawaii for her 80th birthday with her daughter Carole and son-in-law, Ken. Last summer she was able to join her daughter, Barbara and son-in-law Keith, on a trip to Las Vegas.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Carole Conger (Ken) and Barbara Carpenter (Keith); grandchildren, William Wilson, Robert Carpenter (Andrea) and McKey Carpenter (Courtney); and two great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Beulah Baptist Church at Lyells.
