Obituary for Florence Virginia Mothershead (Self)
Florence Self Mothershead, age 103, of Farnham, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. She was the daughter of John R. and Rosie Lee Self and the widow of Willie Gladstone Mothershead.
Florence was the oldest member of Farnham Baptist Church where she was the Treasurer for 20 years and taught Sunday school. She loved caring for people through her phone ministry and always called friends to offer kind words and understanding. Florence wanted her family and friends to accept Christ as their Savior.
She worked as a Seamstress for Levi Strauss and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Farnham Manor. She enjoyed quilting and knitting. Most of all Florence loved her family and will be deeply missed by all.
Florence is survived by her son, W. G. “Billy” Mothershead, Jr. (Jane); her daughters, Dehlia M. Jackson (Lewis) and Lehlia M. Hardy (Ronnie); eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Farnham Baptist Church.
