Obituary for Helen Indiana Mahone Shepp (Clark)

Helen Indiana “Indie” Mahone Clark Shepp, age 86, of Bendersville, formerly of Montgomery County, MD passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at York Hospital. She was born January 14, 1934 in Heathsville, VA as the daughter of the late Willard David Clark and Helen Estelle (Headley) Clark and the youngest of seven children.

Indie attended Strayer Business College and worked for 43 years in the Legal Department of Potomac Electric Power Co. Indie loved roller skating, and was an avid family history researcher.

Indie is survived by her brother Albert Luther Clark; her two sons, Daniel Willard Shepp and his wife, Leann of Silver Spring, MD, and Martin Gerard Shepp of Bendersville; grandchildren Kenneth D. Tisdale, Brandon M. Shepp, Nicholas P. Shepp, Daniel G. Shepp, and Maria G. Shepp, and great-grandchildren Phoebe Tisdale, Xander Tisdale, Nicholas Shepp, Jr., Illeana Shepp, and Amirah Shepp.

In addition to her parents, Indie was preceded in death by her husband, George Richard “Mike” Shepp, Jr., who passed away in 2016 and her siblings Clara Evelyn Clark, William Donald Clark, Myrtle Ernestine Clark, Miriam Louise Clark, and Bernard Willard Clark.

Professional services are entrusted to Welch Funeral Home, Warsaw, VA and Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville, PA. Graveside services are being privately held at Coan Baptist Church Cemetery in Heathsville, VA. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Smithland Baptist Church, Heathsville, VA.
