Obituary for E. Louise Pitts (Middleton)
E. Louise Pitts, 99, affectionately known as Louise to all who knew her, passed away at her home in Temple Hills, Maryland on May 7, 2020. Louise was the daughter of Rosser C. Middleton and Lillian Wilson Middleton and the widow of Joseph Julius Pitts. Born in Acorn, Virginia, Louise attended Strayer University and was a retired manager at Verizon. She was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church, Washington DC.
Louise was predeceased by her parents and husband as well as her brother Lewis M. Middleton and her sister, Mary M. Dickerson. Left behind to cherish her memory is her devoted nephew Rick L. Middleton of Arlington, nephew Robert Dickerson of Montross, her great-niece Emily M. Sledd great- nephews John Eric Middleton, Todd Dickerson, Craig Dickerson and Keir Dickerson. Louise is also survived by her dear canine companion Rusty. Louise doted on her dogs and had several over the years. She was a trailblazing career woman and thoroughly enjoyed rising through the ranks in the telecommunications industry.
A private graveside service will be held, with a public celebration of life to be announced and held at a later date. To honor Louise’s love for her home church, Ebeneezer U.M.C. the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Ebeneezer Church, P.O. Box 70. Oldhams, VA 22529.
