Obituary for Sarah Frances "Frances" Grigg (Webb)
Sarah Frances Grigg, age 95, of Warsaw, Virginia passed away on May 2, 2020. She was born on May 3, 1924 to Arthur Smith Webb and Myrtle Elizabeth Scates in Lyells, Virginia.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-two years, John James Grigg and a little brother who passed as a small child, Arthur C. Webb. She is survived by her son John Bernard Grigg (Ann), grandson David Andrew Grigg (Tonya) and great-grandson Jacob David Grigg.
She was strong in her faith and a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church in Lyells, Virginia where she will be buried near her ancestors.
Family and friends will remember Frances as one who enjoyed baking for church activities, playing games with children, and working word puzzles. She was excellent at Scrabble and Chinese checkers to the point that many wouldn’t play against her.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Orchard in Warsaw for the care they provided in her final days. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Cemetery Fund at Beulah Baptist Church c/o Joan Dawson, 3241 Oldhams Road, Hague, VA 22469.
