Obituary for Georgia Cathy Ricks (Nelson)
Georgia Cathy Ricks, age 70, of Callao, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. She was born on August 21, 1949 and was the daughter of Henry W. Nelson and Mary Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, the Reverend William E. Ricks; sons, James Ricks of Callao and Matthew Ricks of Haynesville; daughters, Lori Headley of Wicomico Church and Catherine Thomas of Tappahannock; twenty grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Nelson and Barry Nelson; and a sister, Ellen Nelson.
Georgia was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Ricks; and two sons, John Ricks and Samuel Ricks.
She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church and loved music and singing. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She had an affinity for clocks and birds, especially bluebirds.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Calvary Pentecostal Church the Reverends William Ricks, Charlotte Marks and Richard Lynn officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Calvary Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Calvary Pentecostal Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5540 Falmouth Street, Suite 101, Richmond, VA 23230.
