Obituary for Helen Elsabeth Lewis

Helen Elsabeth Lewis, 74, of Brandywine, Maryland passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019. A native of Northumberland County, she was the widow of Stephen Randolph Lewis and the daughter of Robert Earl Lewis and Mary Evelyn Beasley Lewis. Helen worked as an Administrative Assistant for the United States Congress in Washington, D.C. until her retirement.

Surviving are her son Darrell (Jodi) of Callao and her daughter Teresa Crater (Ken) of King George; her brothers John Robert Lewis and Walter Straughan; her grandchildren: John, Robert and Gunnar Keenan, Erin Monn, Tyler, Matthew and Michael Lewis and Christopher Goldsmith; her great-granddaughter Lilyanne Monn as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Helen loved all of her family dearly but especially delighted in her grandchildren, who will serve as pallbearers.

A funeral for Helen will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Welch Marks Funeral Home. Reverend Kori Kiss will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to Helen’s service at the funeral home and burial will follow the service at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
