Obituary for Mary Ellen Voci (Parker)
Mary Ellen Voci, 90, of Callao, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. Mary Ellen and her husband retired to the Northern Neck in 1991 from Arlington. Mary Ellen enjoyed traveling and she especially enjoyed her time in Germany and Paris. She loved riding horses and got one upon moving to the Northern Neck and spent many happy hours riding. She was also a voracious reader and had a love for cats but was known more so for being a devoted grandmother who truly adored her grandsons.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters, Buffy Groves (Joseph) of Heathsville and Sarah Vincent (Rick) of Tampa, FL and grandchildren; Merle Groves and fiancé, Gretchen Williams and Nicholas Cotignola.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Malcom D. Voci and her parents, Carroll and Ella Parker.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Welch Funeral Home - Marks Chapel. Reverend Ellen White will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Northern Neck Memorial Gardens in Callao.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to honor Mary Ellen’s love of animals to either the Northumberland County Animal Shelter at P.O. Box 305, Heathsville, VA 22473 or to the Best Friends Animal Society at 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741.
