Obituary for John Franklin "Ace" Wilkins
John “Ace” Franklin Wilkins, age 64, of Farnham, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Johnny worked for Firestone in Warsaw, Virginia for several years before starting a Kings Dominion in Ashland, Virginia in 1983 and retiring in 2017. He loved his work and enjoyed music and growing fruit trees. Above all else, he loved his family and home and will be missed dearly.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilkins; his daughter, Teresa Hall (David); and two grandchildren, Mikel Hall and Makenzie Hall. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Hayes; a sister, Joyce Owens; two brothers, Roger Hayes and Carroll Wilkins; an aunt, Joyce Northern; several nieces and nephews; and a lot of special friends.
Johnny is predeceased by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Wilkins, a brother, Wayne Hayes, and his stepfather, Arnold “Buck” Hayes.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck, P. O. Box 975, Kilmarnock, VA 22482.
