Obituary for Helen Davis (Dodson)
Helen Dodson Davis, 91, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by her son, James Davis, Jr. (Joy); daughter, Beatrice “Polly” Dodson (John); four grandchildren, Randolph Wayne Davis (Jackie), Crystal Gail Wilkins, Kenneth Forrester, Jr. (Debbie) and Bonnie Lynn Belden (Andy); five great-grandchildren, James Randolph Wilkins, III, Randolph Wayne Davis, Jr., Darcus Victoria Davis, Cody Belden, and Megan Hope Belden.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Davis, Sr.; son, Ellis Wayne Davis; daughter, Alice D. Forrester; granddaughter, Lisa Gail Dodson; great grandson, Peyton Holcombe, brother, Ellis Randolph Dodson, and her parents, Ellis and Dallas Dodson.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all the caring and compassionate people who helped them at Hospice of Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Welch Funeral Home-Marks Chapel with interment following at Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, in c/o Deenie Dodson, 2002 Oakland Road Farnham, VA 22460 or Hospice of Virginia at PO Box 2098 Tappahannock, VA 22560.
