Allen Wayne Barker, 71, of Montross, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a salesman for Clayton Homes in Tappahannock and a U. S. Air Force veteran.
He loved to travel, work in his yard, research family genealogy, and was an avid fan of the Washington Nationals and Washington Redskins. He also loved his special night with his friends when they played poker.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy I. Barker of the home; son, Jeff Barker (Sara) of Colonial Beach; daughters, Susan Franklin (Justin) of Fredericksburg, VA, Kristin Davidson (Vince) of New Braunfels, TX; brothers, Robert L. “Bobby” Barker (Claudia) of Montross, VA, James C. Pitts (JoAnn) of Georgia, Frank T. Pitts (Vickie) of Florida, and sister, Alberta Johnson of Partlow, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren, Reagan Barker, Skylar Barker, Sophia Franklin, Henry Franklin, Natalie Barker, Liam Davidson and Caitlin Barker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross, VA. Interment will follow at Popes Creek Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross, VA.
