Katherine E. Steinouer, 94, of Mt. Holly, VA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 13, 2018. Kathy retired from Lawrence Township School System where she taught Home Economics for 24 years. She was a resident of Lawrenceville, NJ for 45 years before moving to Mt. Holly, VA. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Christine (Swain) Murgia and her loving husband of 67 years, Floyd. Kathy is survived by her son Fred and wife Jane of Lawrenceville, NJ, her daughter Janet Kraus of Havre de Grace, MD; her grandchildren: Kate Moore and husband JD, Jodi Kraus and wife Liz, Patti Taylor and husband Jeff; her great grandchildren: Emma, Samantha, and Keira. Kathy is also survived by her sister Sherrie Sheridan of Ossining, NY, her nephew Brian Sheridan and wife Patrice and son Aiden of Ossining, NY, her niece Diane Sheridan-Perrin of Ft. Myers, FL, cousin Jay Steinouer and his son Tim Steinouer and wife Susan and their son Sam of Pittsburgh, PA, and cousin Michael Codirenzi and husband Bob Engle of Columbia, MD. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many dear lifelong friends. Kathy was a member of the Westmoreland Garden Club and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Margaret Whetten Chapter of the DAR, supporter of Rappahannock Community College, and a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. Services will be private.
