William Alonza Brackett, Jr., age 82, of Kinsale, Virginia passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on July 2, 1936 to William Alonza Brackett and Ogretta Shirkey Brackett.

William was truck driver for Rowe Concrete, and a member of Cobham Park Baptist Church. He was happiest in the woods with a fishing pole or hunting rifle in his hands. William was an ambitious tinkerer and could fix anything.

William is survived by two daughters, Sheila Gay Gant and Darlene Campbell (Mark Scott); grandchildren: Charles Campbell (Rachael), Clinton “Scooter” Campbell, Latoyia Gant, Stacen Gant and Melynda Gant; five great-grandchildren: Leona Campbell, Charles Campbell, Jr., Keeli Gant, Maddox Gant and Caiden Gant; a brother Edward Brackett (Patricia) and a sister, Eleanor Roach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlotte, a son, William Alonza Brackett, III, and a brother, Robert Brackett.

Services will be private.
