Obituary for Raymond Wilfred ""Stump"" Chatham

Raymond Wilfred “Stump” Chatham, 90, of Montross, passed away on October 16, 2018 at Carrington Place, Tappahannock, VA. He was retired as a clerk for the ABC Store. He was a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church, Westmoreland Lodge 212 AF&AM, Kinsale, VA, American Legion Post 252, Montross, VA, Montross Moose Lodge #2333 and was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. Chatham is survived by a son, Michael W. Chatham of Springfield, VA; daughters, Linda C. Sydnor (James) of Tappahannock, VA, Jo Ann C. Self (Harry Lee) of Cowart, VA, Dianne C. Tanner of Columbia, SC; brother, Zane Chatham of Montross, VA and sister, Mazie C. Sisson of Montross, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren, Wendy C. Dunn (Tom), Jacky Hoover (Dave), Carissa Laoang (Jeff), Jerry Chatham (Michelle), James K. Delano (Becky) and Christy Tanner and step-grandchildren, Harry Lee Self, Jr. (Mary), Steven Arthur Self (Angela) and Jennifer Nicole Loving (Chris) . Also surviving are great grandchildren, Cassidy, Hailey, Sophia, Dylon, Logan, Nick, Carlee, Brooklyn, Sydney, Christyn, Abby, Hannah, Matthew, Lauren, Paul and Jacky; and one great great- granddaughter, Nora Lynn Self. He was preceded in death by a son Johnny Ray Chatham and a brother Franklin "Micky" Chatham.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel with Masonic Services. Interment will follow at Carmel United Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
