Obituary for Shari Alayne Miller (Moreno)

Print
Shari Alayne Moreno Miller of King William left her Earthly life on September 28, 2018 after a mighty battle with breast cancer. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family. Shari was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Jose DeJesus Moreno and Marsha Rubel Moreno on April 1, 1966. Shari proudly served her country in the U.S. Army, she was an alumnus of The University of Maryland, Baltimore. She was currently a social worker for United Healthcare but had spent many years working at both Riverside Tappahannock Hospital and Hospice. She was a member of the Church of the Redeemer in Mechanicsville.

There was nothing in this world that brought Shari more joy than her family. Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Michael William Miller; her beloved children: Ariell Rebecca Milone of Oceanside, California, and Joshua Ethan Taylor, Andrew Nikolas Miller and Sofia Alexis Miller, all of King William, Virginia; her son-in-law Nick Milone, who she considered a third son; her sisters Marisol Carmen Grap (Mike) of Baltimore and Leticia Antonia Enos (Greg) of Woodbridge, Virginia; her stepmommy Doris Alicia Moreno of Baltimore; her stepfather Martin H. Stutz of Baltimore; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; lots of friends, her loyal dog Maverick, and her granddogs Lyla, Zeus and Porker. Shari was predeceased by both parents and her brother Gary Stuart Rebhun.

Shari lived a life that was full of caring for others. Her own family was the center of her universe, but her professional life reflected Shari’s kind soul and generosity of spirit as well. She was a proud veteran and dedicated her working life to serving her community in one form or another. Shari cared for so many people and impacted so many lives in her short time on Earth. She loved being a wife and mother, she was an amazing cook, she loved dogs, she loved music – especially live music and she always found a way to wrangle her way through the crowd and to the stage. Shari lived her life thinking of others first and she will be missed terribly.

A memorial service for Shari will be held at a date to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you honor your memory of Shari by contributing in her memory to Joshua’s, Andrew’s or Sofia’s Virginia529 .
