Obituary for Thomas Westley Moss

Thomas Westley “Tommy” Moss, age 82, of Kinsale, Virginia passed away Friday, August 31, 2018. Born on April 14, 1936 to Annie Evans Moss and Harry Castleman Moss, he was the youngest of ten children and was preceded in death by his parents and his nine siblings.

Tommy was a graduate of Cople High School and attended the College of William and Mary. He had a great passion for baseball and was a world class player. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and his pets. Tommy was a World War II history buff and loved old movies, westerns, the New York Yankees, and the Washington Redskins.

He served in the United States Army earning the rank of Sargent, and played baseball on the Company’s team. He spent the remainder of his career working for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company as an Agent and Manager for over thirty years.

Tommy is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Joyce Scott Moss; his beloved daughter, Whitney Moss Perez and her husband Thomas Neil Perez, Jr; and three adored grandchildren, Ava Spencer Caroline Perez, Alexandra Westley Perez, and Thomas Neil Perez, III (Knox), all of Warsaw; and also his beloved cat Burlioz.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Carmel United Methodist Church with Pastor Donna Blythe officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home, March Chapel, 10300 Richmond Road, Warsaw.
