Lynn Bowers and I (Pam Lowenthal) were part of a group of high school friends that got together over at our mutual friend's home (Donna Nusbickel) in DC at least once a year near her birthday. I always thought Lynn was very nice but we didn't date in high school. Many years later (1982) I asked another mutual friend if he knew anything about Lynn and we called him. Lynn invited our little group out for dinner at Chesapeake Seafood. We had a wonderful time and Lynn and I struck up a friendly banter and just had fun. He and I then started seeing each other. We spent many weekends at his mom's home in Catlett, VA and I fell in love with the area and him. That was a good thing since we married on 12/3/1983 at the chapel on American University campus in NW Washtington. After living 17+ years in Catlett, VA near Warrenton we sold the house and moved to Callao. He began building our new home which he designed on land once owned by his grandparents. We had many delights in our lives, plenty of deer in back field and turkeys, quail, a few foxes, and other wild animals; great neighbors who all loved Lynn. He was a friend and helping nerighbor to all and always had a sense of humor to the very last. He spread kindness, love and laughter wherever we went. He was the kindest man, generous to all, willing to help and a genuine, honest man. We greeted each day with a thank you Lord for another beautiful day. Lynn was truly a blessing that I will treasure always. Linnie, I love you and am missing you, your laughter, your 'I love you' and 'so glad I married you's. You were a very special man and will remain in my heart always.
Lynn would tell anyone if asked that I married him because he had a washer and dryer or that he wouldn't have married me if his collie/shepherd, Honey, hadn't allowed me into his truck. Later he spoke of how he was bug killer and jar opener. Many laughs, memories, love, and so much more.
