Dorothy Mae Jones Baker, age 88, of Heathsville, returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 15, 2018. She was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 21, 1929 to J. S. & Lily Florence Jones. Dorothy was a devoted mother but also had a full career as a dedicated employee of IBM having retired in 1990 as a Technical Editor for Federal Publications.

Dorothy was a good and faithful servant of Christ and a member of Smithland Baptist Church. She was an inspiration to all.

She is survived by a son, Charles M. Baker, Jr; a daughter, Diane Baker; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two beloved dogs, Twitter and Waffles T. Beauregard, the fifth.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Baker, Sr. and a daughter, Beverly VanTassell.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date this fall.
