Obituary for Peter Kelvin Craig

.Peter Kelvin Craig, 70, of Montross, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Master at Arms his last duty Station was VQ-4 NAS Patuxent River. He began his Naval Career on the Aircraft Carrier USS Hancock VAW-11 and VCR-50 Det Denang during the Vietnam War. After his retirement he and his wife Kathy sailed their Sailboat Gemini through the Caribbean to South America. On their return to the Chesapeake Bay they discovered Coles Point were Peter was the Boatyard Manager for many years until he started is own business “The Boatyard”. He completely retired this last year.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Ann Craig; son, Casey James Craig (Melissa) of Tall Timbers, MD; sister, Judy Thomas (Wayne) of McAdam, New Brunswick, Canada; niece, Tanya Mitchell (Jamie), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; nephew, Shane Thomas (Clara), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada and grandchildren, Baylee Craig, Grayson Juenemann Craig and Carli Reynolds.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will be held after the funeral service at Coles Point Marina Recreation Hall.
Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
