Obituary for Ernest Clifton Ferrell Sr.

Ernest Clifton "Ernie" Ferrell, age 66, of Dunnsville, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. He worked as a Crane Operator for W. O. Grubb Steel Erection, Inc., and retired in 2011. Ernie was a lifelong resident of Essex County and will always be remembered for his acts of kindness. Ernie served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marion Ferrell and a brother, Robert Lee Ferrell.

He is survived by a son, Ernest Ferrell, Jr. and his wife Ann of Dunnsville; a daughter, Melissa D. King of Dunnsville; three grandchildren; Tyler King, Haylee Ferrell, and Mason King; and a sister, Susan Chatham and her husband, Wade, of Chatham Village.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 3889 Richmond Highway, Tappahannock, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Ernest Ferrell, Sr. Last Act of Kindness. They may be dropped off at SonaBank Essex Square, Tappahannock Office. All donations will benefit an Essex County resident battling cancer.
