Jean Lucy Best-Franks, 71, of Lottsburg, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College, a retired Bookkeeper who loved sewing and crafting. Jean also taught Sunday School at Bethany Baptist Church and made several mission trips to North Dakota. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was dedicated to the education and service to others.
Jean is survived by her son, James Best of Stafford; daughter, Jennifer R. Best-Frank of Heathsville; brother, Ronnie Franks (Betty) of Stafford; grandchildren, Melinda Best of Lancaster County, Michael Dowd of Fredericksburg, Tiffany Dowd of Grand Island, FL, and Elizabeth Jorgensen-Best (Garrett Blanton) of Richmond; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ronny and Mary Ellen Franks; and two sons, Frank Best and Clement “Robbie” Best.
Memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Bethany Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Baptist Standing Rock Missionary Fund, P.O. Box 641, Callao, Virginia 22435.
