Obituary for Barbara Jean King (Wilkins)

Barbara Wilkins King, 69, of Montross, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was retired as a bank teller at Bank of Lancaster, a member of Nomini Baptist Church and had worked for Levi Strauss Co. for 20 plus years. She was an honorary member of the Golden Eagle Booster Club at Washington and Lee High School and was inducted in the Washington and Lee High School Athletic Hall of Fame for her contributions and community service to the athletic program.
She is survived by her husband, Larry L. King; son, Elbert D. King (Kim) of Warsaw; daughters, Patricia Lewis (Malcolm) and Beverly Bell (Gary) of Montross, and grandsons, Landon Lewis, Evan Lewis, Carson Bell and Cullen Bell, Brennan King and Nathan King. She is also survived by her brothers, James O. Pillsbury (Linda), John T. Wilkins, Kenneth R. Wilkins (Diane); and sisters, Debra Bertrand (Chuck) and Pamela Howeth (Billy), all of Montross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dee Wilkins and Ann Pillsbury Wilkins.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Nomini Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel.
