Mary Virginia Scates, a retired bus driver of Lottsburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett A. Scates of 58 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Scates Garris; two nephews, Leonard Headley (Susan) and William “Bill” Scates; and three nieces, Nancy Go (Willy) of NC, Shilrey Weaver (David) of MD, and Janice Headley of the Tidewater area.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home in Warsaw, VA where her funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Interment will proceed at Coan Baptist Church Cemetery in Heathsville, VA.
