Frances English Sanders, 91, of Warsaw peacefully departed her earthly life on Friday March 2, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of Fisher R. Harris and Abbie Self Harris and was married to the late Frank Edward English, Sr. and the late L. Wainwright Sanders. Frances was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church and an active supporter of Cobham Park Baptist Church. She retired from the United States Postal Service as Postmistress of Center Cross, Virginia and was an active member of her community serving as past President of the Cople Alumni Association, Treasurer of the WMU at Cobham Park and an active supporter of the Young-at-Heart group, also at Cobham Park Baptist Church.

Frances was predeceased by her parents and husbands. She is survived by her sons: Frank E. English, Jr. of Kinsale, Thomas R. English (Jennifer) of Farnham; David F. English (Anne) of Warsaw and daughters Betty E. Lyons (Mitch) of Mechanicsville, Va. and Connie S. Brooks (John A. “Dickie”) of Warsaw. Also surviving Frances are her beloved grandchildren Katie Anderson, Richard English, Scott Lyons, Adam Lyons, Hollie Lewis and Jennifer Beck and seven beautiful great-grandchildren. She will best be remembered by all for her devotion to her family and church.

Services will be held at one p.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Cobham Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Welch Marks Funeral Home on Monday March 5, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Bethany Food Pantry, P.O. Box 641, Callao, Va 22435; Cobham Park Woman’s Missionary Union, P.O. Box 306, Warsaw, Va 22572 or to Ebenezer United Methodist Women, 144 Ebenezer Church Road, Oldhams, Va 22529.
