Obituary for Elsie Marie Hale (Bromley)

Elsie Marie Hale (Bromley)
Elsie Marie Bromley Hale, 99, of Callao VA, entered her heavenly home on December 27, 2017 surrounded by her family. Elsie was born July 17, 1918 in Lottsburg VA. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a homemaker and seamstress.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd E. and Anna Lewis Bromley of Lottsburg, her seven siblings, and husband of 64 years, Thomas “Ewell” Hale, Sr. She is survived by their four children, Thomas E. Hale, Jr., Roy A. Hale, Marcia H. Schools (Cecil), and Janet H. Mundie (Dennis); nine grandchildren and their families, Todd, Jeff, Thomas Allen, and Shawn Hale, Dawn Jewell, Larry Schools, Christal Schools, Denise Thompson, David Mundie; nineteen great grandchildren and families; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, friends, and caregivers.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel in Warsaw VA with the Pastor Kornel Kiss officiating. The family will greet friends at the Chapel prior to the service, starting at 1:30 pm. Interment will be held at Northern Neck Memorial Gardens, Callao VA.

The Hale family extends our gratitude to the staff at the Orchard and Riverside Hospice for their attentiveness and loving care as well as her in-home caregivers during the years prior to entering the Orchard. She loved each one and you became so dear to her. We want to say thank you to friends and loved ones for your love, concern, and prayers, especially during the last few months of her life. Mom leaves us with these words, “I am 99 years old and ready to go. I have lived my life and I am going to a better place. Don’t cry for me.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, P. O. Box 641, Callao, VA 22435 or Riverside Tappahannock Hospice, 618 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, VA 22560.
