Retired Lieutenant Colonel Albert Eugene Frye, 72, of Montross, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. LTC Frye was the husband of June McGraw Frye. He was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers as the Deputy OCAR Engineer and a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
Albert is survived by his wife of 50 years, and three children Timothy M. Frye of Fredericksburg, VA, Robert W. Frye, of Purcellville, VA, and Kelly F. Viau of Apex, NC; two daughters-in-law; Trisha and Vicki Frye, one son-in-law; Kevin Viau and one brother, Edward N. Frye and wife Margaret Ann Skillman Frye, of Haymarket, VA.
He was known as a loving Pappy by his grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Robby, Zachary, Courtney, Jacob and Addie; great grandchildren McKenzie and Hallie Rae. He was preceded in death by a great grand-daughter Melanie Faith Frye and parents, Leonard W. and Hallie Mae Frye.
Albert was a beloved member of the Northern Neck community. He was an avid gardener and fisherman who loved to share his bounty. He loved his family and friends immensely and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. His zest for life and the light in his eyes is his legacy that will be carried on through us all.
A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross, VA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Friday July 28, 2017 at the funeral home.
