Obituary for Frances King Ferlazzo

Frances King Ferlazzo, 87, of Callao, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018.

She was predeceased by her husband, Victor E. Ferlazzo and her son, David Mark Revere; also her grandson, Lawrence Revere.

She is survived by her children, Paul Revere, Jr. of Tappahannock, Mary Jo Cecil (Milton) of Bowling Green, Bill Revere (Bonnie) of Edwardsville, and Terry Lee Ferlazzo-Bryant (Troy) of Callao; step-children, Richard Ferlazzo of Alexandria, Vickie Bland (Harvey) of Mineral, Diana Tanner (Bill) of Maryland and Marilyn York of Alexandria; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Frances was born December 6, 1930 to Lewin and Josie King. She had four brothers and sisters, Virginia Sheets, Sonny King, Alice Haynie, and Lewin King, Jr.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a long time member of Warsaw Baptist Church.

A great joy and comfort in her life was living on the river where she greatly enjoyed its beauty and changes, as well as the rising of the sun and moon over the water.

For about 30 years, Frances worked in fashion at Learner’s in Richmond and finishing her career at J.T. Harris in Tappahannock. A highlight in her life was the trip she made with her friend Celie Wyman and sister Alice Haynie. She also enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds of all kinds that come in her yard. She fed them every day. She also loved reading. Her collection of books numbered about 150.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Welch Funeral Home-Marks Chapel with burial following at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Hague by the love of her life, Victor E. Ferlazzo. Family will receive friends from 9:30 am to 11 am before the funeral service.
