Obituary for Royal Jackson "Jack" Reams

Royal Jackson “Jack” Reams of Warsaw, Virginia, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was the widower of Dale Sanford Reams. He was a member of Warsaw United Methodist Church. Jack was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served abroad in Thule, Greenland. He was a retired State Farm Insurance Agent where he served 42 years of dedicated service to his clients and the community. Jack was a Past Master of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge and also served as an instructor and mentor. He also once served as the District Deputy Grand Master of the Ninth Masonic District. Jack served his community by being a charter member of the Richmond County Volunteer Rescue Squad and was past president of the Richmond County Volunteer Fire Department. Jack was a Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7167.
Jack is survived by his son David, of Warsaw, two sisters, Katherine King of LaCrosse, VA, Hilda Ripperger of Holly Springs, NC a brother in law, Edward Wells of Colonial Heights, and one sister in law, Ruth Reams of LaCrosse, VA. Jack had numerous nieces and nephews on both the Reams and Sanford sides of his family that he loved and cherished dearly. Jack also had a very special dear friend in Marion Gray Thompson of South Hill, VA. Jack was preceded in death by his brothers William, Robert, Early and a sister, Linda Wells.
A Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Warsaw United Methodist Church in Warsaw. The family will receive friends at the Welch Funeral Home – Marks Chapel on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Masonic service held at 3:30 P.M.
