Albert Reed "Al"  Childs Sr.
Albert “Al” Reed Childs, Sr., age 75, of King George, Virginia, originally from Northumberland County, Virginia passed away March 6, 2018 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Clarke Childs. He was also predeceased by nine siblings, Elizabeth Childs Arrington Swann, Laura Childs Ambrose, Eldeen Childs Smith, Hilda Childs Self, Benjamin F. Childs, George Childs, Robert Childs, Donald Childs, and Ronald Childs.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen Childs Hinson (Jerry) of Warsaw, Virginia, a son, Albert “Bert” R. Childs, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia, a granddaughter, Ashley Hanks Plushko (Victor) of Farnham, Virginia, two great-grandsons, Victor Alexander Plushko and Braden Connor Plushko, also both of Farnham, Virginia, one brother, Harold Childs, and four sisters, Betty Childs Whittaker, Shirley Childs Barrack, Nancy Childs Prescott, and Barbara Childs Parker. He is also survived by his special friend, his cat, “Casper”.

Al was a reputable business owner and owned and operated “Al’s Body Shop” in King George, Virginia for many, many years until his retirement. His wife Bobbie worked by his side as Office Manager.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Bethany Baptist Church, Callao, Virginia. Interment in the church cemetery will follow the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bethany Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warsaw Church of God Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 457, Warsaw, VA 22572.
