Life Story for Stephen Thomas Fallin

Stephen Thomas Fallin passed away at George Washington University Hospital at 2:55 PM, Monday afternoon, on February 26th, 2018, following a two week battle with complications from a tragic fall. He was 69 years old.
Stephen was born September 4th, 1948 in Washington, DC to Landon and Jessie Fallin. The middle child of three siblings, Stephen adored his sisters Lisa Lee and Donna Marie, often showing his affection with hilarious, deviously inventive practical jokes.
After graduating Riverside Military Academy, Stephen received his Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also studied for a summer at Harvard. He was a prolific writer and observer of history and humanity, as well as a gifted raconteur.
Following his studies, Stephen worked with his father Landon as Property Manager and Sales Manager of Fallin Realty, Inc., practicing real estate in DC and Maryland. He was a valued member of the small Capitol Hill team. In addition to his writing and his real estate practice, Stephen was a lifelong voracious reader, hungry for knowledge and exposure to new ideas. His passion and thirst for knowledge took him around the world, from scuba-diving in local rock quarries and the Caribbean, to flying small Piper Cub planes.
Stephen lived the later years of his life quietly in Manassas, Virginia, where his presence was beloved by his neighbors. He had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs, cats, and the Canada geese. A devoted Mormon, Stephen regularly attended the Manassas Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where parishioners enjoyed his gentle, kind spirit and looked forward to his presence.
Stephen is preceded in death by his beloved parents Landon and Jessie Fallin and his sister Donna Marie. He is survived by six children and ten grandchildren. His son, Landon Nathaniel Buell, sister Lisa Fallin Paddock, and nephew Landon Paddock, were beside him at GW Hospital the day he passed.
A graveside service will be held at Currioman Baptist Cemetery (1265 Chilton Rd. Chiltons, Westmoreland County, Va. 22520) at 2pm Saturday afternoon, March 10th. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Humane Society at www.humanesociety.org
